Kumunyack Enterprise (Pty) Ltd: Highlights

Founded in 2006, Kumunyack Enterprise began as a close corporation specialising exclusively in Low Voltage (LV) Electrical installations. That same year, Kumunyack earned the distinction of becoming a registered and approved service provider for Sasol, marking a pivotal entry into the industry.

This partnership expanded quickly, with Kumunyack appointed as the trusted maintenance services provider for all Sasol residential facilities in Secunda.

In 2014, Kumunyack joined the CG Tech family family, enabling the company to broaden its expertise into Electrical and Instrumentation installation. This growth was solidified by the company’s transition to a proprietary limited entity in 2015, cementing Kumunyack’s position as a versatile, high-quality service provider across a wider range of industries.

Kumunyack Enterprise (Pty) Ltd continued to uphold its founding principles of quality, safety, and innovation, delivering trusted solutions to clients in South Africa’s industrial and residential sectors.

Work History

With a history of exceptional project delivery, Kumunyack Enterprise (Pty) Ltd has solidified its reputation as a reliable partner for high-quality industrial engineering and project management services across Africa. From fuel storage facilities in the Democratic Republic of Congo to wastewater optimization at Sasol’s facilities, Kumunyack combines technical expertise, commitment to safety, and timely project execution to exceed client expectations.
2016 marked a year of impressive accomplishments for Kumunyack Enterprise, driven by exceptional project execution and client satisfaction. Kicking off the year with the Reclassification Project at Sasol’s U252 Incinerators, Kumunyack completed the two-phase project for both East and West Incinerators under strict time constraints and within budget. The outstanding quality and timely delivery led Sasol to award Kumunyack the subsequent Phases 3 and 4 of this essential project.

Building on its proven track record, Kumunyack successfully delivered the Unit 244 Waste Water Optimisation Project in May 2016. The project achieved a flawless start-up across multiple plant areas, completing over 51,000 man-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI) This achievement was a clear demonstration of Kumunyack’s uncompromising commitment to safety and quality.
During the Secunda Annual September Shutdown, Kumunyack was tasked with the replacement of the Sasol Phenosolvan Acid Scrubber (017-VL-403). Operating under challenging conditions, including elevated workspaces and restricted movement, the team executed all Instrumentation and Electrical works with precision. Despite external delays, completion was achieved on schedule, ensuring a timely plant start-up.
Later that year, in September 2016, Kumunyack was appointed by Sasol Projects & Engineering to undertake critical shutdown works at the Caustic Evaporation Plant in Sasolburg, successfully concluding in December 2016.
Expanding its footprint beyond South Africa, Kumunyack partnered with Puma Energy on the construction and installation of a 5,000m³ fuel storage depot in Matadi. Delivered over a 20-month period, the project showcased the company’s capability to execute complex electrical and instrumentation scopes on critical infrastructure in demanding international environments.

Kumunyack’s commitment to quality has led to long-term partnerships and repeat contracts with industry leaders. For instance;
The dedication to excellence was further underscored by the two-year extension of its Electrical Maintenance Contract at Sasol’s MDC & CDC Data Centres, securing their expertise through May 2018. This extension underscores our client’s trust and Kumunyack’s reliability in managing critical data centre operations.
In 2016 Kumunyack also secured a long term contract for Low Voltage (LV) and Building Maintenance at Sasol Sasolburg, supported by a dedicated team ready to deliver exceptional service.
Furthermore in the year 2021 Kumunyack secured another long-term E&I maintenance contract on the General Overalls (GOs) of Steam Boiler at Sasol in Secunda.

Kumunyack Enterprise’s growth has been built on a foundation of agility, uncompromising quality, and an excellent safety record. In 2024, this proven track record contributed to the successful award of a comprehensive maintenance contract covering MV, Low Voltage (LV) and Instrumentation systems across Sasol Secunda and Sasolburg. This milestone reflects Kumunyack’s ability to manage large-scale industrial projects while ensuring consistent performance and reliability.
